Shoaib Ahmed Faridi founded Sales Tax Advisory Services in Karachi in 1996 as a specialist indirect-tax firm, and now leads its UAE successor practice, Legato8, from Dubai. The Karachi practice ranked among the top 10 tax advisory firms in Pakistan and remains the platform from which we serve UAE clients across corporate tax, VAT, audit, forensic accounting, and legal advisory.
Since May 1998, Mr. Faridi has held the Central Board of Revenue (now Federal Board of Revenue) appointment as the sole authorised publisher of the Sales Tax Act 1990 in Urdu — a brief that has produced six editions of the Act, two compendia of Sales Tax Law from 1983 onward, and dedicated trade guides for exporters, importers, and the retail and wholesale sector. Eleven titles in total.
Beyond Legato8, he is Group Chairman of Dynamic Group of Companies in Pakistan, with portfolio stakes spanning logistics (Dynamic Logistics International), construction (Cavish Builders and Developments), private security (Cavish Security Services), trading (Cavish Enterprises), and law (Faridi Law Associates). His public-service record includes Honorary Advisor to KCCI since 2000, two terms each as Chairman of FPCCI’s Standing Committees on Liaison with Government Agencies and on Sales Tax (2004–2009), and four further years chairing KCCI’s General Sales Tax sub-committees across multiple boards.
